Finn’s Story
When I first adopted Finn in 2021, I had no idea just how much he would change my life. At that time, I was struggling deeply with PTSD, depression, and anxiety. Every day felt like a challenge, and the weight of my trauma was often unbearable. I was isolated, withdrawn, and overwhelmed.
From the moment Finn walked into my life, he became more than just a companion—he became my lifeline. Unlike any dog I’d known, Finn instinctively understood when I was struggling. He would approach me when my anxiety peaked, offering quiet comfort in the form of a gentle nudge or a calm presence. He helped ground me during moments of hypervigilance, providing me with a sense of security when everything around me felt chaotic.
But Finn didn’t just support me during my toughest moments—he gave me a reason to get out of bed every day. He encouraged me to reconnect with the world, to take small steps back into life when I had felt paralyzed by fear and doubt. His loyalty and calm presence brought me peace, and slowly, I began to regain my independence and confidence.
Finn’s dedication to me never wavered, even on the hardest days. His impact wasn’t just emotional—it was physical, too. Having Finn by my side meant I no longer faced the world alone. His companionship provided me with a newfound strength that allowed me to navigate daily life more confidently.
Through Finn, I realized how transformative the bond between a person and their service dog can be. He became my anchor, my protector, and my constant reminder that healing is possible. Finn showed me that through support, love, and understanding, recovery is not just a dream—it’s a reality.
Finn is not just a service dog; he is the heart of my healing journey. And I am forever grateful for the unconditional love and stability he continues to provide me every day.
